Humans of New York that’s amazing! I can’t wait to hear all the stories. My husband was suddenly activated with his military reserve unit last year and 24 hours later he was gone. He was one of the first few groups of military members sent to NYC. He’s from NY, upstate, though he hasn’t lived there in years. Him seeing the city as a ghost town was heartbreaking. Oh, I loved Solid Gold, too, and the dancers were my be favorite part! I never knew any of their names (I was pretty young), but I thought they were the most beautiful, exotic, graceful dancers ever, and I very much wanted to dance like that, too!. Yes yes yes!! I was that little girl too watching Darcel! I LOVE HER! And I still do those moves, usually in the grocery store aisle to embarrass my young adult children! Such a great story. I pray Darcel is doing well. Solid Gold dancers were the absolute pinnacle of awesome to my kid brain. They were my favorite part of the show.. I looooved the Solid Gold Dancers! They were incredible to watch. So fluid and dynamic.. I loved Solid Gold as a kid! I watched it every week with my parents!. I absolutely Loved Solid Gold!!!!! Nobody seems to remember that show. My dream was to grow up to be a Solid Gold dancer!!!
