Robin Williams had Lewy Body Dementia, it wasn’t only depression that caused his suicide. He wouldn’t have lived long on any case. That gives me a little comfort. I’m a big fan as well.. He had to have known on some level just how much he meant to the world. Just how much he effected us. I like to think he would have loved to know that in a way he was with you on your darkest day. I can’t even imagine what you and your family went through. It is truly a blessing that you are still with this world though. Someone needed you to stay.. Kelly Boyd. I think a tragic thing about Robin was that he did know that he made an impact, and didn’t want to leave this world less than what we had come to love. Please know that his death was not due to a temporary mindset. Robin Williams had a rare and fatal brain disease, Lewy Body Dementia. His death was imminent. It was not a treatable and preventable suicide, but an end stage brain atrophy illness.. From Mork and Mindy: “I don’t know how much value I have in this universe, but I do know that I made a few people happier than they would have been without me.” – line delivered by Mork (Robin’s character). Imad, thank you for sharing your story. We bought a chess set from you several years ago on a visit to NYC and it has pride of place in our home. This was our favorite chess shop when living in NYC. We took our kids there a few years ago and they were closed for a chess camp. They opened the gates and let my kids come in and play a game with the other children . Something tells me that Zelda would be very happy to hear how much her dad meant to this man.. Robin Williams is one of the greatest losses we ever had. I to this day will watch you tube videos about him and cry. One day I plan to get a tattoo of a robin in his honor.. This is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever read.. Love this story. As a fellow Palestinian who also met Robin Williams in person. I remember going right up to him at a TriBeCa Film Festival and shaking his hand saying how much he touched our lives with his craft. Robin Williams was the most warm and generous actor who looked me right in the eye and smiled and said thank you! I was honored .. his death devastated me.
