Henry I wish I could help you but the pandemic left me pretty low on cash but I’ll be praying for you and your family I’m here in Sacramento California and I heard your story I hope all your friends and people who do have a little money to spare will be able to help you it’s good people like you that make our country a better place to live. What a truly kind soul Henry is. There are very few people left in this world that would worry about the feelings of a customer that came back years later to find his store gone. I’m one of Henry’s repeat customers .and I don’t even live in NYC. I’ve been going to his shop for about 10 years now. I saw him last just before the pandemic and we had a great conversation about finding success in the US. He was very proud speaking about what his children were studying and was very happy to know about my story, how my father immigrated to NYC from Honduras and what I had done with my life. He told me he was proud of me and like always, he really warmed my heart. I’ll see him again soon to buy my third scarf or fourth pair of fingerless gloves (that I probably don’t need!) just so I can say hi and have his infectious personality make my day.. I was in NYC a couple years ago visiting my brother Daryl Tan and we went into Henry’s store. At first, my brother was the only one getting a bag. But then I got interested too. Henry saw that I had some shopping and he offered to let me try fitting them into the bag. In the end, we left the store with the same bags – one in black and one in green. Great quality stuff and he’s a good chap. The bag’s been to many places with me. Hope things get better!
