Right at the start of our Australian lockdown last year, I asked my kids a bunch of questions, and one of them was where they would travel if they actually could. My 11yo daughter said, New York City, nowhere else. Ballet dancer painting poster I asked her if she meant right then, in the middle of the crisis. And she said she’d like to visit it anytime.. “at. But New York is coming back, because the people are still here. The soul of New York was never skyscrapers. It’s people.” It is always all about the people, folks.. I was lucky to visit NYC just before the city shut down last year. We flew back home to Canada on March 10th. I can’t wait until we can visit again!. I agree. I love NY and have lived here all my life. But the crime and homelessness is the worst I have seen. Again love NY

(Melbourne was coming back too, but we are now in our 4th lockdown.). What a great collab!. It’s not only New Yorkers who love the city, can’t wait until we can travel there again from Australia.. I’m tearfully happy for New York and Broadway coming back to life and in tears of despair for my country (Philippines) because we seem to be so left behind . You are absolutely right that New York City is not about the skyscrapers or even the theatres, museums and arenas. Its charm lies in the people, the action, the spontaneity that’s just daily life.
