I used to live in Alphabet City so I wouldn’t get to this side of the city very often but I had a friend who would swear by this place. I’ve never been there personally, but next time I’m in the city – I think I’ll be sure to buy a cut there.. It’s so nice to know how nice neighbors can be ,very protective and caring.. Our gramps died in queens right before covid hit. The family is here this week for his unveiling. This story made me cry, for all of the grandpas out there in the ethereal who have granddaughters missing them. So incredible you got to spend such time together, honoring his life work and continuing it on. I’m sure he’s behind you all the time, beaming with pride. . Oh my heart. I’m so incredibly sorry for your loss. I’ve had a grandmother who passed away, whom I was so incredibly close to. Towards the end, she would have bouts when she would remember who I was, but it was usually in a frightened way. Like, watch out, there’s a man behind you!”. It broke my heart. I was only 8 at the time, younger than my oldest child now. She helped raise me. Helped shape me into the better parts of who I am now. I find peace in sharing special parts of her, with my children. And as they recently grieve their first great grandparent loss, we bond even closer, because now they too know that . But we also rejoice in all the ways those we love, still “live” through us. Like singing “Tiny Bubbles” while playing the ukulele. Or admiring orchids (my grandmother was a master gardener). You’re helping your grandfather’s legacy continue to live, and it sounds like a beautiful thing. So much love, peace, and many more loving souls to visit you after this post. Omg I’m going into the city just to visit Henry and buy from his store – his work ethic reminds me of my dad . Henry I wish I could help you but the pandemic left me pretty low on cash but I’ll be praying for you and your family I’m here in Sacramento California and I heard your story I hope all your friends and people who do have a little money to spare will be able to help you it’s good people like you that make our country a better place to live. Henry should look into the small business loan/Grant program that New York state is opening up I believe on June 8. It is designed to provide owners of small businesses who owe rent arrears relief so that they do not lose their businesses or their leases.
