People often see our disabilities before they even see us, and in so, doing, they miss the bigger picture! Also, for every child with a disability that I’ve met, mothers were there, doing the supporting and motivation and cheering them on. Mothers!

I loved Solid Gold. It was my dream too to be a Solid Gold Dancer. Darcel was my favorite. No one could move like her. And yes, that hair! Thanks for sharing your story!. Kathryn Ruuska. I loved Darcel Wynne! My name is Darcy, and I didn’t know anyone with my name when I was young. I thought maybe when I grew up, I could be as glamorous as Darcel . I loved solid gold and Darcel was my favorite! I can’t dance at all but I remember thinking she was like a wonder woman and could knock people out with her pony tail and block with her jewelry and headbands and shoot electricity from her fingernails. . Yesssss! I wanted to be a Solid Gold dancer and then a fly girl on In Living Color. Both shows were over before I was old enough.. My mother loved Solid gold and Darcel – thus my name!
