I completely understand Henry! I closed down for the pandemic and never opened back up. My store was my heart and my customers made it even better. I didn’t get to say goodbye to many of them but I still hear from other store owners that were in the same village that my previous customers over the past year and half have come looking for my store and for me and that they always have great things to say about it. Being my own boss was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do but at the same time it was the most rewarding it’s bittersweet but I just keep telling myself that one day I’ll be able to open my doors back up, all in due time seeing someone walk out with something I made that’s the memory that I will hold on to until that day comes again! Love that HONY is doing this! We can do more. What if for every dollar you send Henry (or any of HONY’s NYC features), you make sure to spend that same amount or more at a business not fortunate enough to be highlighted here? Use the inspiring stories to spread the love in your own neighborhood; your local businesses need you too! . Henry was open during a blizzard once and saved my husband’s feet with a pair of combat boots. We were in the city for the week after moving away from NY many years before and were not prepared for how bad the snow got. Such kindness and such an iconic fixture of The LES. Hang in there! You’re part of what makes New York so great!. Henry needs social media such as Instagram and website. This would help. Stephanie Moore Looper. I wish there was a way I could purchase merchandise but I do not live in NYC and have no way of getting there any time soon.. I wish it could’ve been more, but I hope my small donation was a drop in a bucket that overflows for Henry.. Henry has always been SO KIND to my husband and I whenever we visit! So happy to see people donating.. Brandon, you bring out the very best in humanity. You showcase our true the sick, distorted parts.. Brandon is an amazing human!!!. In the early 90’s I lived around the corner from this store. I still have a pair of boots from it! Donating and I hope he makes it.. In the few minutes that it took me to refresh the fundraiser, it went from $14k to $28k! People are amazing . Omg I’m going into the city just to visit Henry and buy from his store – his work ethic reminds me of my dad
