She wouldn’t let any of us kids on or off the bus unless we smiled and said good morning or thank you . This driver reminds me of a couple MTA employees who helped a friend of mine when she got sick on the subway some 20 years ago. I got their names, wrote letters for both, and was happily surprised to receive a call from the MTA. They shared that they would put my commendations in the employees’ files. I’ve never forgotten those employees’ kind act, nor how it felt to be able to repay their good deed. I’m sure this driver and the letter-writer will both remember this for many years to come.
