These small business where the heart and soul of N.Y. when I was growing up there. Dealing with individuals and families. They are a dying breed now unfortunately. Have been for decades as big business buy out the properties or keep paying more rent than small business can afford.. I drove from central NYS up near Rochester yesterday, and NY IS coming BACK! So many folks out and about, yard sales. Something that looked like folks getting ready for a tour. The best was when I passed a church, just as folks were exiting and lining up in a reception line outside! Bells and music, and I saw the bride, in white, at the bottom of the steps. Hang on, Henry (I can’t help because I am fixing up an old car to replace my other, unfixable, old car. budget is totally out of whack).. Henry I wish I could help you but the pandemic left me pretty low on cash but I’ll be praying for you and your family I’m here in Sacramento California and I heard your story I hope all your friends and people who do have a little money to spare will be able to help you it’s good people like you that make our country a better place to live Nurse it’s not how much you do it’s how much love you put in the doing t-shirt

6500USD rent? Crazy! That landlord is earning an awful lot without doing anything! . can i buy something online? i want to help. Could anyone help Henry set up a small e-commerce store so people who aren’t in NYC could buy his cool bags?. AMAZING how someone can come to this country with nothing, not even speak the language and work hard and not be a drain on society. Men like this are the reason why I have no sympathy for complaining Americans that say we lack opportunity. He’s proof that’s it’s here for those who want it. I wish him the absolute best for his future and that of his family.. I’m one of Henry’s repeat customers .and I don’t even live in NYC. I’ve been going to his shop for about 10 years now. I saw him last just before the pandemic and we had a great conversation about finding success in the US. He was very proud speaking about what his children were studying and was very happy to know about my story, how my father immigrated to NYC from Honduras and what I had done with my life. He told me he was proud of me and like always, he really warmed my heart. I’ll see him again soon to buy my third scarf or fourth pair of fingerless gloves (that I probably don’t need!) just so I can say hi and have his infectious personality make my day.
