New life goal: be as interested in all of the things life has to offer as this lovely human is in cassowaries. . How wonderful! Life goalI want to be like this when I retire!. I love your attitude! I’ve always told my kids to never stop learning.. Some people just love to learn for the sake of learning. I think that should be a goal for everyone. I used to go to the library and pick a random non-fiction book off the shelfI learned the most interesting things! And I love that she didn’t let the pandemic stop her. She just adapted and expanded using zoom. Very admirable!. Wonderful approach to life! Will have to check out that program sounds fascinating!. Love this! My Dad never stopped reading. He worked until he was 92..reading and taking notes almost every day. When macular degeneration took much of his sight after retirement, he listened to books on his tablet. The day he passed, he finished re-reading a book by Charles Dickens!. I hope organizations keep offering streams of their in-person content (or offer online content in addition to it). I have to get with it! This lovely woman is older than I am and so obviously so much more engaged with the wider world than I am!!! She’s a motivator!. Wow I like that “I’m still interested” I believe that we must remain interested! Is a constant learning process to stay alive and hopeful your brain needs knowledge to feed your soul.. Interested is so important. I didn’t realize how important interested was, or how difficult it can be to get back, until it was gone. To be interested in your golden years is a goddamn crown better than any nest egg!. Your thirst for learning and curiosity are beautiful and inspiring! For many of us, Zoom has sometimes felt like drudgery, or second rate contact with the world, but your reflections put all of this in a new perspective. . I’m just incredibly grateful that in our lives right now, we have full access to our entire written and unwritten history to explore, and not only that, but we have millions of books that allow us to explore other worlds through fiction. I think that through the hustle and bustle of life, we tend to lose sight of all that we have at our disposal to be interested in.
