Humans of New York Such an inspiring story and I’m so glad to see the Chess Forum getting this attention. I believe that when I went there to play, back in the 1980’s it was located on the other side of Thompson Street and closer to Washington Square park.. Humans of New York I fee like we visited that store years ago when in NYC with my kids. At the time my son was playing a lot of chess and sat down and played a little.. i went there once and was in awe of all the chess sets they had. Now i know the back story. I really hope this posting helps the Chess Forum too, because it is a unique and cool piece of New York that we certainly want to celebrate and maintain.. Chess Forum moved from the other side of the street not all that long ago but looks like they’ve been there for decades.
