We were on a break face mask

I took a major, substantial wrap and ran out. The clock was striking one as I was in the Crescent, and there was not a spirit in sight. I ran along the North Terrace, however could see no indication of the white figure which I anticipated. At the edge of the West Cliff over the wharf I looked over the harbor toward the East Cliff, in the expectation or dread, we were on a break, I don’t know which, of seeing Lucy in our preferred seat. There was a splendid full moon, with substantial dark, driving mists, which tossed the entire scene into a short lived diorama of light and shade as they cruised over. For a second or two I could see nothing, as the shadow of a cloud darkened St. Mary’s Church and surrounding it. We were on a break face mask. At that point as the cloud passed I could see the remnants of the convent coming into see, and as the edge of a restricted band of light as sharp as a blade cut moved along, the congregation and churchyard turned out to be continuously obvious. Whatever my desire was, it was not disillusioned, for there, we were on a break, on our preferred seat, the silver light of the moon struck a half-leaning back figure, cold white. The happening to the cloud was excessively snappy for me to see a lot, for shadow shut down on light very quickly, we were on a break, however it appeared to me like something dim remained behind the seat where the white figure shone, and twisted around it. What it was, regardless of whether man or monster, we were on a break, I was unable to tell. I didn’t hold on to get another look, we were on a break, yet flew down the lofty strides to the dock and along by the fish-market to the extension, which was the best way to arrive at the East Cliff.
